The ox has its special place in Ch'an Buddhism. The famous "Ten Ox Herding" pictures describe the Zen training path to enlightenment. Folk images are accompanied by poems and commentaries that depict a young ox-herder's quest to tame, train, and transform his heart and mind, a process that is represented by subduing the ox.<br /><br />We hope that this will be a transformational year for us as we emerge from a tough year before. As we tame our monkey minds, may we also triumph over the many challenges which life has for us!
